Non-apologies

So while this is a topic of conversation, let’s be clear about what DOES NOT constitute an apology:

1. I’m sorry *if* you were hurt/your feelings were hurt.

2. I’m sorry you feel that way.

3. Please forgive me.

When people hand you this mealy-mouthed bullshit instead of actual accountability, kindly decline their “apology” and let them know when they’re ready to actually apologize, you may or may not be willing to hear it.

Lastly, other people DO NOT owe you forgiveness when you wrong them.
