Kanga is Black

Who are we learning is Black today? Kanga! In case you don’t recall, Kanga is the only female animal in the Winnie-the-Pooh universe and the incredible mother of Roo. Why is she Black you ask? Well, for one, she likes to keep a clean house and is very organized. How is that relevant you wonder? Because anyone with a Black mama will tell you they’ve been woken up early MANY a Saturday morning to clean the entire house. She also is very quick to offer guests something to eat, a gesture deeply ingrained in Black culture. Lastly, in the 2018 movie Christopher Robin, Kanga was voiced by Sophie Okonedo.
